Grain handling on the Danube

Grain has been the core export specialization of New Energy since 2007. Wheat, corn, barley, soybean and rapeseed move through the Izmail terminal under ISPS-certified handling, with on-site rail fronts and on-site customs that remove any need to relocate cargo for clearance.

Grain types we handle

Wheat (milling and feed grades), corn (yellow and white), barley (malting and feed), soybeans, sunflower, rapeseed, sorghum, peas. Both sea-going parcels for Mediterranean and EU markets and river barge shipments to Central Europe. Cross-contamination is prevented by parallel handling lines and dedicated covered storage sections for each crop.

Handling capabilities

Owned grain elevator and conveyor system for vertical and horizontal cargo movement. Multiple loading and unloading schemes: wagon-to-warehouse, warehouse-to-vessel, and vessel-to-vessel via floating crane. Sample-taking, weighing on certified weighbridges, and basic quality control on request.

Routes and markets

Regular Danube routes to Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia. Sea routes via the Black Sea and Mediterranean. Ukrainian grain exporters use our terminal as their gateway for parcels from 1,000 tonnes upwards. EU buyers benefit from short transit times and direct rail access from inland origin points.

Quality and regulatory compliance

All grain handling complies with Ukrainian DSTU and EU food-safety standards. Food-grade grain is kept in covered, segregated storage, weighed on certified weighbridges, and cleared in the on-site customs zone without relocation to a dry port. Export documentation is arranged by the exporter or their customs broker; we provide the on-site facilities, weighing and cargo data.
