New Energy provides freight-booking support for qualifying cargo moving by Danube inland-waterway, river-sea and connected sea transport. The service links a defined cargo requirement with suitable market options and coordinates the transport commitment with terminal handling, storage and ship agency where requested.

Freight support begins with a cargo and responsibility brief. It is not a public schedule, guaranteed vessel space or automatic chartering commitment.

Service fit

The service may fit buyers that need to:

  • test a Danube or river-sea transport option;
  • connect a cargo parcel with suitable carrier capacity;
  • compare through-carriage and terminal-transfer models;
  • align freight with terminal receipt or loading;
  • add storage or inland interfaces to a water leg;
  • define the transport-document and reporting workflow;
  • establish a fallback if readiness changes.

New Energy publicly supports grain, fertilizer, steel, ore and qualifying breakbulk projects, but every cargo and movement requires current acceptance.

Freight booking, forwarding and agency

These scopes can work together but remain distinct:

  • Freight booking arranges a transport commitment or cargo space with a carrier.
  • Freight forwarding can coordinate carriage, consolidation, storage, handling, packing and related services; FIATA uses a broad supply-chain definition.
  • Ship agency represents an appointed vessel principal during the port call.
  • Terminal handling performs the accepted physical cargo operation.

The proposal states which role New Energy performs, which party is the contractual carrier and which services are provided by third parties.

Information needed to approach the market

Provide:

  • exact cargo, classification and physical form;
  • approximate quantity and contractual tolerance;
  • lots and commingling rules;
  • load and discharge areas at a commercially useful, non-sensitive level;
  • cargo-readiness period;
  • proposed delivery term and contracting party;
  • vessel or equipment requirements that are genuinely necessary;
  • loading and discharge methods;
  • survey, quantity and condition basis;
  • transport-document requirements;
  • insurance and claims contacts;
  • terminal storage or inland connections;
  • alternative plan if the first model is unavailable.

For breakbulk, add a private item schedule. For regulated bulk cargo, add the applicable safety and carriage information.

Compare options on one basis

Review:

  1. contractual carrier and performance party;
  2. cargo and quantity commitment;
  3. load and discharge responsibilities;
  4. freight and included charges;
  5. notice, waiting and exception framework;
  6. transport-document form;
  7. cargo-space and survey requirements;
  8. terminal and inland interfaces;
  9. cancellation or substitution conditions;
  10. claims and dispute framework.

A low headline rate can be more expensive if handling, storage, waiting or onward transport is excluded.

Inland-waterway documentation

Where applicable, the Budapest Convention (CMNI) provides a framework for carriage of goods by inland waterway and recognizes documents evidencing the contract and taking over or loading of goods. The actual document and governing terms depend on the movement and parties. New Energy does not provide legal advice; the shipper and carrier approve the contract and document.

Coordination with the terminal

The freight plan must match cargo acceptance, vessel nomination, terminal method, storage and official controls. A carrier commitment is not terminal acceptance. Live navigation, vessel, port and border conditions are confirmed privately for the shipment.

Request freight support

Send the cargo brief, approximate parcel, commercial load/discharge areas, readiness period and requested scope. New Energy will identify missing information and determine whether to approach suitable market counterparties.

Rates, carrier availability, nomination, dates and terms remain indicative until a written transport commitment and all connected interfaces are confirmed.
