New Energy coordinates multimodal cargo projects connecting water transport, terminal handling, storage, road and rail through its private terminal in Izmail. The service is designed around the handovers between modes, where cargo identity, documents, quantity and responsibility can otherwise become fragmented.

UNECE uses multimodal transport for carriage by at least two modes. A port project may be multimodal without being intermodal in the strict sense, especially when bulk or breakbulk cargo is physically transferred rather than remaining in one loading unit.

Service fit

The service may fit when:

  • import cargo arrives by vessel and leaves by road or rail;
  • export cargo is accumulated before vessel loading;
  • river and sea legs connect through a terminal transfer;
  • bulk cargo is packaged before inland distribution;
  • several origins or destinations need lot control;
  • storage is required as a timing buffer;
  • one commercial party wants coordinated terminal and transport interfaces.

The actual route is project-specific. New Energy does not publish live movements, fixed lanes, carrier schedules or guaranteed transit times.

Scope available for confirmation

A proposal can combine selected elements:

  • route and responsibility design;
  • cargo acceptance and terminal method review;
  • sea or river freight-market support;
  • vessel-call agency;
  • road or rail interface coordination;
  • accepted covered or open storage;
  • certified terminal weighing;
  • survey and sampling access;
  • customs-control infrastructure and cargo records;
  • document matrix and milestone reporting;
  • contingency planning.

The contract identifies whether New Energy acts as port operator, ship agent or logistics coordinator for each element and names third-party carriers.

Build the route from interfaces

cargo origin → pre-carriage → border/official control → terminal receipt → storage or direct handling → vessel leg → discharge interface → onward carrier → consignee

For each arrow record:

  • contracting and performing party;
  • cargo condition and lot identity;
  • transport document;
  • quantity basis;
  • readiness milestone;
  • handover evidence;
  • fallback owner.

One route name is not enough. Responsibility and documentation must change cleanly at every interface.

Cargo-specific controls

Grain requires quality, sampling, phytosanitary and lot planning. Fertilizer requires product acceptance, moisture, classification, packaging and label controls. Steel and breakbulk require unit schedules, condition surveys and private lifting data. Ore and mineral cargo require applicable solid-bulk carriage information and moisture or hazard controls.

A single template cannot safely substitute one cargo for another.

Review origin handling, carriers, border interfaces, terminal handling, weighing, storage, survey, documents, waiting exposure, onward delivery and recovery if a mode changes. The cheapest main leg may not produce the lowest complete supply-chain cost.
